General
Conference was amazing! The Priesthood session was the best that I
remember. One missionary here described it like King Benjamin's sermon
where everyone who heard it had a change of heart. I definitely felt a
little chastened by the Spirit. It just hit right what I needed.
We
have zone conferences this week. They were really good. We were asked
to talk on serving the Lord through our obedience. It went pretty well.
Elder Christenson shared a cool analogy. We call it the Jesus wheel. So
you take a wheel. The end of it where it runs on the road is like the
line set for commandments and what we can and cannot do. There are
probably a lot of things we could squeeze just past the line and get
away with, right? Here is the thing though. The axle is where the Savior
is. We aren't trying to see how close to the edge we can get, we are
trying to get as close to Christ as we can. There is a cool talk by
Elder Hartman Rector Jr. It is called "Live Above the Law to be Free."
Also the Anti-Nephi-Lehi's are a good example of this.
Have a great week everyone!
