Paso Robles!

This week has been great! Not a whole lot happened due to me being sick for a couple of days, but I'm all better now.
Lets see... we weeded someone's vineyard. We stopped by some people.
We got a referral this week. We tried by, but no one answered. We decided to leave the Book of Mormon she wanted on her porch with our phone number. It only took an hour for her to call back. It was pretty cool.

So this week my challenge is to pray to know what to do this week to help yourself come closer to God.

Paso Robles!

So, I may have forgotten to tell everyone not to send letters this past week. My new address is
Elder Michael Bronson
730 Gardenia Circle #2
Paso Robles, CA 93446
Sorry about that.
This week has been awesome! I didn't get a picture with Elder Anderson yet, so I'll keep everyone in suspense until next week. Paso is great though. It is a lot slower pace than Ventura and a lot more like home. It would be comparable to Burley's size. Elder Anderson happened to actually know where Burley was. He has some relatives that live in Elba and also between Burley and Twin Falls.
Things that happened... We had a lesson with one of our investigators. It was pretty cool. He said that the only reason he listened to Elders Anderson and DeGraw was they knocked on his door seconds after he has finished a prayer to find out what he needed to do about religion. It was super cool. That Spirit was so strong at that little burger shop. He said that his dad has shunned him because he has been looking for a different religion. He is really awesome and has his head on good. He just got a Book of Mormon, so he will get his answer soon.

So I'm not sure if you have seen this TV show. I think it is called Redwood Kings or something like that. One of the main guys is our ward mission leader. He has a crazy cool tree house. It has a fingerprint lock on it. And secret passageways. And a TV with Xbox. Crazy cool.

This week we had a cool broadcast. It was along the coast from California to Alaska and also Hawaii. It was super inspired. Elder Renlund talked about "the short answer." In case you are wondering, the short answer is the Restoration and the First Vision. He explained that for anyone to really understand why we do the things we do, they need to first understand our belief in modern day prophets and revelation. He gave us 2 steps to answer questions.
1. Give them the short answer.
2. Answer their question in context of the Plan of Salvation.
This is so inspired. So my challenge for this week is for you to use the "short answer" and then answer the question in the context of the Plan of Salvation. As you do this, they will actually understand why we do the things we do. Otherwise you might get sucked into a conversation about the health benefits of red wine, ect.

Have a great week and Happy President's Day!

Transfers!

Transfers are here. Elder Hull is staying... and he is training! I'm going up to Paso Robles! It's all the way at the top of the mission. My new comp is Elder Anderson. I have no idea who he is. This is his second transfer, so I am follow-up training.

This was a great week and a great transfer. By the way, do not put dish soap in the dishwasher. Well, if you are bored, then do it anyways. You won't be bored for long.

Last week we did the coolest Frisbee golf course ever. There were 4 of us, but we only had 3 Frisbees. Thankfully, the Lord provided and we happened to find another Frisbee.

Well, we don't have too many crazy stories this week and I'm out of time, so I'll talk to you next week.

Oh. The challenge is to really prepare to go to church. Think about how the week went before you go, and then during the Sacrament, think of how well you did the things that you are working on. The Sacrament is really a sacred time and it is a time we can receive great revelation. It works.

Have and awesome week!

LA and Stake Conference!

This week was great! We got to go to the temple. We had Stake Conference and got a new Stake President. It was a super cool week.
The temple was awesome! It was the one in Los Angeles. Kind of funny how it took 1&1/2 hours to get there, but only 1/2 an hour to get back. We were almost at a standstill on the freeway.

One night we were walking in the PepperTree apartments and we waved to a guy on his porch. He jumped up and ran over to us. He had a friend who recently passed away and he wanted us to say a prayer with him. We said a prayer and were able to testify of the Plan of Salvation. He said we could come back. That was really cool.

Also we had dinner with some members who are going through a harder time. We shared a scripture at the end and we shared Ether 12:27. It turns out that he had just read that scripture that morning. That was another cool thing we did.

So this week I want to challenge you to learn and grow. Our whole purpose here in this life is to learn and grow. We need to constantly learn and as we learn we need to constantly change our behavior to keep up with what we learn. This may be a little confusing, but as someone learns that they should live the word of wisdom, they need to change their behavior to keep up with what they learn. So this week find something that you have learned and start to change to obey the thing that you learned. It can be hard, but as we rely on the Savior and our Heavenly Father, they will help us become strong.

Have and awesome week!

So our area goes right up to the beach. We can't go on the beach, but we can take pictures from the sidewalk. It's pretty great.
